FAQs

The McElroy Equipment Inspection application can be used online through the Vault™ via the "Inspections" link in the top right bar. In addition, the app can be downloaded for free on any mobile device through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Download and use on the DataLogger® 7 for an optimized experience.


  1. Our McElroy University team has developed an online training module for using the application to conduct inspections. Please contact McElroy at [email protected] to begin the course enrollment process. Upon successful completion of the training module, you will receive your McElroy ID.
  2. Login or Sign Up for a Vault™ account — After completing the course and downloading the app, you will be immediately prompted to login to your Vault account. Sign in with your credentials or create a new account. The inspection information will be available from your Vault account on your device and on desktop.
  3. Add your McElroy ID in the "Settings" Tab — Upon completion of the credentialing course you will be assigned a unique McElroy ID. Click the link to navigate to the "Settings" tab when prompted to add your ID and start an inspection.

Both settings can be used to fit your specific need! Maintenance mode is recommended for use in managing inventory and/or for annual inspections. Rental mode can be used to manage rental fleets. In this mode, each item will display a check in/out status on the "Asset" tab for quick reference and can be exported into a CSV file as well.
To enable inspection functionality, users must have a McElroy ID, provided upon successful completion of the McElroy inspection credentialing module. Please contact McElroy at [email protected] to begin. After downloading the application onto your device, and signing in with your Vault account credentials, you will be prompted to add your ID under "Settings" to start your first inspection.

To add custom survey questions, navigate to the admin view of your account. You will see a list of standard pre-loaded survey questions but you can create a new one by clicking the "New Survey" button. Add basic information, the applicable machine component and the inspection check questions to get started.

Add job-specific questions in the Job Setup tab by adding a short name (title), question and finish the setup by customizing the status and comments settings.

Inspection reports can be generated from the "Final" tab of the inspection. Click the PDF icon to generate a full report which includes all job details, the status and images for each check, comments and for rental mode — the check in/out status.

Share read-only job details or reports with your Vault™ connections by clicking the share icon and selecting the connected user.
