A.H. "Chip" McElroy II, P.E.
President & CEO
Chip McElroy is chief executive officer and president of McElroy Manufacturing, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of fusion machines, fin tube machines and a distributor of mobile hydraulic components. Chip was born in 1962 in Tulsa Oklahoma and has been a part of McElroy Manufacturing all his life. His father, A.H. "Art" McElroy, founded company and operated it until his death in 1988. Chip joined the business as a draftsman in 1978 but had been a permanent fixture around the shop since childhood. From that time, his dedication and passion have become hallmarks of his tenure at the corporation.
During the past 24 years Chip has worked in several positions including project engineer, manufacturing and systems engineer, vice president manufacturing and vice president/general manager. In 1997 he was named president and CEO. This role gave him responsibility for the leadership and overall management of MMI as well as delivering on the company's vision to, "strategically develop and broaden the entire team to better meet the need of the present and future customers." Chip's philosophy for leading McElroy, centers on building a world-class team of passionately committed people to achieve the goals of MMI.
In the time Chip has taken direction of McElroy Manufacturing, Inc. the company has experienced its largest financial growth with sales quadrupling and reaching approximately $50 million in 2002.
Chip is presently leading the pursuit to conquer the short and long term goals of MMI which are: to maintain current domestic market shares, to increase the international market share of fusion equipment and infiltrate the water and wastewater market by educating municipalities of the advantages of polyethylene pipe.
Described as intense, focused, sincere, driven, funny, hard charging and dynamic, Chip has infused McElroy Manufacturing with his own brand of energetic discipline and spirit.
Chip says, "There is an old story of the farmer's breakfast, where the chicken has participated by providing the eggs, but the pig is committed. While I'm not looking for people to pay the ultimate price, (like the pig), I am looking for people who are committed enough to this organization to fight for what is right, fight for what they believe in, and be a driving force in the company and make a difference."
Chip graduated in 1985, Cum Laude, from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is presently serving his second term on the University's Board of Trustees. |
