McElroy Manufacturing Company History
Art McElroy took the first step in realizing his dream by starting his company in a small garage in Tulsa Oklahoma. He had little more than an unquenchable thirst for the science of design, and a strong foundation in his wife Panny. They put their honest work ethic in motion and watched their dream come to fruition. By 1954 their dream, McElroy Manufacturing Inc, (MMI) became a reality.

McElroy has an extensive history in design and has engineered a wide array of custom machines over the years.
In the early 1960's, McElroy became a forerunner in the market for fintube machinery. Art McElroy refined the design of the machine, as we know it, over a period of about 15 years. At the end of the 1960's, McElroy was shipping fintube machinery across the globe to places such as England, South Africa, Italy, Germany, Holland and Asia. With 24 U.S. and foreign patents on fintube related equipment, it is estimated that as much as 80% of all finned tubes have been made by McElroy machines.
In 1969, McElroy designed its first polyethylene fusion machine. Today with over 23 U.S. and foreign patents, McElroy. designs, manufactures and markets the industry's most complete line of fusion equipment.
In 1983, MMI added the Fluid Power Division to the company. McElroy Fluid Power became a regional distributor of hydraulic components. The initial strategy was to lower cost of their fluid power needs. It soon became a major venture to market hydraulic equipment nationally. McElroy Fluid Power was a leading supplier of mobile hydraulic components. McElroy sold McElroy Fluid Power in 2004 to focus their efforts on the growing fusion market.
Art McElroy was an outstanding inventor, engineer, designer and businessman who established strongholds in three separate industries before his death in 1988. During the same year Chip McElroy, his son, took over the direction of the company leading it through its greatest period of economic growth.
Today McElroy has placed its stamp on the world as a leader in engineering and manufacturing. Throughout its history there has been a strong emphasis on product development and improvement to continually provide the customer with the most technologically advanced, rugged, and durable machines in the industry. This is why McElroy is known as ‘The Leader by Design.'
