| Pipe splitting tools are used in the rehabilitation and restoration of existing mainlines, laterals, and services. The Bullet's function is to split the pipeline, expand the pipeline to a larger diameter, and pull back new polyethylene pipe in one simple operation. Optional expanders allow for pulling one size larger pipe through the split pipe.
Bullets are available from 1–1/2" IPS through 12" IPS pipe sizes. The tools can split a variety of piping materials including: steel, cast iron, ductile iron, and vitrified clay. Rolling cutter wheels split through steel pipe up to Schedule 40 and most couplings. Patented guide rollers provide positive tracking and prevent rotation of the tool as the pipeline is split, reducing the risk of damage to other utilities.
The tools are adaptable to conventional rod pushing equipment. The use of rod pushers keeps tooling costs low and allows installation lengths in excess of 250 feet per pull. |
