The McElroy No.28 fusion machines will butt fuse pipe sizes from 2” IPS - 8” DIPS (63mm - 225mm). They come in multiple model configurations to assure your pipe fusion needs are covered.

Rolling, TracStar and PitBull machines incorporate the interchangeable No.28 four jaw carriage, which can be easily removed for in-ditch fusion. For tight installations the outer fixed jaw and skid can be removed from the carriage converting it to a 3 jaw carriage for an even more compact fusion unit. Several of these units offer saddle fusion capability in the form of a Combination Unit (CU) that allows fusion up to 8” DIPS (225mm) branch saddles onto any size main.

The TracStar No.28 offers a self-contained, self-propelled track mounted vehicle that can handle grades up to 30%. It is the number one choice on the job site for its ease of maneuverability and productivity gains.

The latest upgrade to the TracStar No.28 is an option that allows automated control and monitoring over the heat, soak, fuse, and cool cycles. The Automated TracStar No.28 gives the operator a step by step procedure for fusing pipe. It has a built-in data logging feature that keeps a record of each fusion joint, which allows you to verify joint integrity.

DynaMc™ Hand Pump

A true dynamo, the DynaMc™ 28 HP (hand pump) provides the power and pressure required to butt fuse pipe from 2” IPS to 8” DIPS (63mm – 225mm) with a double-action hand-powered pump.

With a detachable easy-lift cradle, the 28 HP comes in a 2-Jaw or 4-Jaw design that is easily removed from the cradle and maneuvered into tight spaces. The small stature of the DynaMc doesn’t equate to a loss in power, as the DynaMc 28 HP features an electric facer that is sturdy and strong, with the ability to be loaded into the machine from either side.

The double-action hand pump is designed in unison with high-velocity cylinders that create faster carriage speeds for the critical opens and closes during the fusion process. The work performed on the DynaMc 28 HP can be logged with McElroy’s DataLogger® technology, which records and documents the parameters of the fusion process.

PitBull® No.28
