Durability and Cost Efficiency
McElroy finned tube machines will give you years of continuous, reliable production. Based on an 85% efficiency factor and tube length of 50 feet, our machines are the most cost efficient in the industry. Our applied finned tube machine with a one-shift operation can produce 1,000,000 feet of imbedded fin per year. Our extruded machine in a one-shift operation can produce 1,770,000 feet of extruded finned tubes.Durability also means the flexibility to adapt to new technology. We continue to maintain standards of design to enable our older applied finned tube machines to keep producing state-of-the-art fins, regardless of age. As new finned tube configurations are developed, the appropriate tooling can be added to existing applied fin tube machines.Our advanced disc technology for our extruded machines has allowed us to significantly reduce the weight of aluminum per foot of tube as well as standardize the muff wall thickness regardless of base tube diameter.Wherever possible we have worked at developing “universal” tooling for our applied machines to minimize tooling inventory and reduce overall expendable tooling costs. Our applied and extruded machines continue to represent a very small portion of the cost of extended surface.
